That sounds like less and is more. A meeting point in the middle of a 595-metre table is no meeting point at all — everyone passes the entrance.
We are at the Kaiserstraße entrance — where you come in, where you step out for a while, and where you leave at the end. You walk past us three times a day anyway.
The dumplings are a few steps away from us. The people who meet here are the ones who know that: the early arrivals, the ones who need a break in between, and the ones still sitting when the tables come down outside.

Where do we meet?
At a table 595 metres long with thirteen thousand people, any group loses each other within ten minutes. The entrance is the one point everyone passes — and here is the address.

Insider tip sounds grand for a bar with twenty-two seats. But that is exactly the point: whoever knows about us on Knödelfest day has a coffee in the morning, a chair in the afternoon and a meeting point that fits in one sentence. Usually those are the people who know their way around.
The dumplings are at the table, and they are better off there than here. We are what comes before and after.
That is not carelessness but intent — it is how we work all year. On a day like this all the more so: whoever is here, is here, and the seat belongs to whoever walks in. Just come by and enjoy the festival.

When does the Knödelfest 2026 start?
On Saturday, 19 September 2026 at 11 am. It opens with the procession of the twenty innkeepers, led by the mayor and accompanied by the brass bands.
When does the Knödelfest end?
The eight bands play at the table until 8 pm. After that the grounds empty fairly quickly. We stay open until midnight.
Where can you get a drink in St. Johann before 11 am?
With us, Kaiserstraße 7. On the festival day we open in the morning, as soon as the set-up is done — coffee, and something else if you prefer.
What is there to do after 8 pm?
We are open for another four hours, until midnight. No brass band, no bench — a chair and a glass of wine.
Can you book a table at the Feier·Abend?
No. We never take bookings, and least of all during the Knödelfest. Just come by.
Where is the best place to meet at the Knödelfest?
At the Feier·Abend, Kaiserstraße 7 — at the entrance to the festival grounds, a few steps short of the dumpling table. In the middle of a 595-metre table nobody finds anybody; everyone passes the entrance. A name, a house number, a sign above the door.
Is it called Knödelfest or Knödeltisch?
Officially Knödelfest — that is what the poster and knoedelfest.at say. In St. Johann most people say Knödeltisch, „dumpling table“, because the table is 595 metres long; in Tyrolean dialect that becomes Knedltisch. All three mean the same day: Saturday, 19 September 2026.
What is a Seinihansa?
Two things. First, it is what the people of St. Johann call themselves — the real locals; anyone who says Seinihansa usually says Knedltisch for the Knödelfest as well. Second, it is the name of the pork sausages ordered here as „a Paar Seinihansa“, with fresh horseradish, mustard and bread. We do not serve the sausages — we serve toasties.
